Monday morning update

The story in the Lansing State Journal elicited amazing community support in our peanut butter drive. Even today people are calling to find out when and where they can drop of peanut butter to send to Haiti. And, yesterday, one of my own strategies was used against me. As I was welcoming the assembly to worship a procession of students came walking up the center aisle bringing with them over 1000 containers of peanut butter, including a LOT of single serving containers. It looks like the whole SLCC staff is going to take pies in their faces next Sunday morning.

I'll gladly wear a little whipped cream for the sake of hungry Haitian children. Here is the toteboard:

Hey Frank,
This is beginning to look a little like the Huckabee/McCain scenario. But as Huckabee has said, "Until someone gets 1191 delgates, they are not the nominee."
Well, I don't know what the Peanut Butter "delegate" number is, but perhaps a few words of Winston Churchill, will embolden the adults to bolster their Peanut Butter "salvos" and save their minister from the eager pie-in-the face youth.

"A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty."

"Continuous effort - not strength or intelligence - is the key to unlocking our potential."

"I like a man who grins when he fights."

"Never, never, never give up."

So come on adults!
Let us rally to the cause! The Haitian kids are counting on us all...(and truthfully, Wally, James, and Betty with pie in their faces...what a Kodak moment!)

My heart is overflowing with the generosity of "Southies" and the community. Thank you for standing with with us as you bring peanut butter in.

I can't begin to tell you the impact that a jar of peanut butter has on a Haitian's life. Your actions in this case will speak volumes to the Haitians.

Thank you soooo much! What a blessing you are!

Tracy
