"May I have the rings?" - FAIL!!

I performed a wedding on a dock overlooking a pond this past summer that was just beautiful. I can't imagine something like this happening. I even caused my best friend Fred to step on his new bride's, wedding dress (sorry Mariah) tearing the hem, even. But this schlep takes the gold medal. Running away.

If the groom was a thinking man, he would used the opportunity to demonstrate his love for his bride by jumping into the water himself and insist that the ceremony be completed while standing in the water. By making an embarrassing situation one of fun and rememberance, that action would have shown that he sacrificially loved his bride.
What do you think?

That was hilarious.

I can see me being the best man and stumbling like that.

That would make a great Southwest commercial. "Wanna get away?"

Ok I'm a skeptic. But if this did happen the only appropriate response is for the groom to jump in followed by the entir wedding party.

Me, too. The preacher is sappy and has his lines memorized. I don't and I've done a hundred weddings. The dude should have jumped in. I'm guessing that, if this is real, his bride made that crystal clear to him at some point.
